St. Regis Singapore Christmas and New Year Dining
The Christmas season has officially descended upon us and if you have not made your festive dining plans, you better NAO because all the good children do, if not they would starve so badly. Thankfully, here's your Skinnyfat Santarina and her recommendations of the St. Regis Singapore's festive menu!
This non-turkey fan is absolutely loving the Whole Roasted Turkey (Brasserie Les Saveurs) which was better than roasted chicken (my tolerance for turkey is fairly low). This comes with buttered brussels sprouts, glazed chestnut, fried caramelised yam (which was amazing, like a preview of Chinese New Year). Slather the meat with the cranberry-orange compote or the savory Giblet gravy.
Amuse Bouche of Slow-cooked egg with smoked salmon tartare and horseradish espuma (BLS). A well balanced spoon of saltiness coated by that creamy quail egg.
From LaBrezza, the Foie gras and Boston lobster terrine. The foie gras was amazingly soft and creamy and i was surprised it worked well with the briny sweet lobster. The sweet, sticky, and dense dates and shallots compote, bitter cocoa sauce, and lobster essence added on interesting flavors that gel the dish. Give it a shot!
A heavier starter from LaBrezza is the smooth and earthy Polenta Ravioli filled with Porcini mushroom. The filled pasta is accompanied with some tender pork belly, and elevated with the Parmesan and Black Winter Truffle Espuma.
Next, the Grain Fed Angus Beef Tenderloin with Rock Lobster tail, black trumpet stuffed Dauphinoise, with a sauce perigord (BLS). Classic but more refined Surf and Turf. I wouldn't expect anything less from BLS.
A lighter main at LaBrezza is the Oven Baked Black Cod which is paired with the creamy Castelluccio lentil purée. The oily fish was giving some crunch came with the walnut and fresh herb crust, and added pop of flavor with the Avruga pearls and sour cream.
A selection of desserts are available, like this Raspberry Lamington. I'm not a lamington fan but even then, i enjoyed the crunchy royaltine sable that was hidden under the whipped chocolate chantilly cream. Heh.
Other festive sweets are available at the BLS take out, like this Brandied Cherry Fruitcake. Sadly, my favorite Christmas Stollen from last year has been replaced with a bready sugar crusted one this year. BOOYAH.
Nevertheless, there are some really yummy cookies that you should pack, like the Chocolate Chip with Macademia Nut Cookies.
Check out www.stregissingapore.com/christmas for more details on the different festive dining and takeaway offers at all the restaurants (oh yes, even Yan Ting). I've just placed my order for a Christmas party! Make sure you do that soon!
